Christmas Clearance - Going on Now

It's that cheery time of year.  Twinkly lights.  Warm, tasty drinks.  Festive presents.  And an Apron Strings Sale that'll save you a sack full of cash.

You'll find great prices all over, down every virtual aisle.  In the Pantry stroll through Second Helpings of Paper and Embellishments and TV Dinners and you'll discover savings of up to 50%. . .which is nothing to shake a candy cane at.  Wander down the Table Scraps aisles for Past Kits or Other Scraps to find even better savings - like up to 75% better.  There's also deals to be had in this Month's Add-ons, including an add-on cardstock pack and ribbon bundle to go with the soon-to-ship December kits.

Snag yourself past Bigger than a Breadbox kits that are priced at or below the regular cost of Smaller kits. And that means the deals on Smaller than a Breadbox kits are equally awesome.  If you're of the card-making persuasion, or it's a 2013 goal, slide down the Card Kit aisle for stock-up savings.  Past kits will wrap up savings of 30 to 50%.

SPECIAL - shop today (Friday December 7th) and when you purchase three or more TV Dinners, you'll receive a FREE TV Dinner.

The sale continues through the weekend, but shop early to get the best selection.

Wrap It Up #5

So today the plan was to show you my progress with December Daily. . .ready for it?

And, ah, yeah. . .great, huh?  I have no progress.  Nothing to show.  Not a photo snapped - well maybe some I could use, but nothing from the prompts over at Journal Your Christmas.  It's been one of the weeks, where there's lots of thoughts but no so much on the actual activities.

On to Plan B.  Today's Wrap It Up inspiration/challenge comes from Midwest Living's Pinterest boards.  I'm sure part of the appeal. . . okay. . . 95% of the appeal is the colors.  That red and white gets me every time.  That icing is amazing, the swirls and whatnot.  Plus how cute of a way to give cookies or candies for the holidays.  Glass (I would probably go the Mason Jar route), filled with the treat, a little Baker's Twine and hang the cookies on the glass.  Done.  If you're looking for card or layout ideas - the lace on the napkin, the clear glass equals "look for acrylic," striped papers, papers with intricate designs, round and star shapes.

Whatever you choose, remember to upload your items by Sunday evening to be eligible for the My Mind's Eye Union Square pack.

This weekend is off to a slow start - with a trip to the doctor for my 14 y.o. son and his knee.  Lots going on tonight - Mass, weekly Friday night dinner with the in-laws, daughter is off with friends at the zoo's Wild Lights.  Hopefully tomorrow will allow me time to finish the tree that still needs one more box of ornaments dumped on it, a list longer than my arm of business stuff, a craft to-do list that I just want to dig into and ignore all the rest!   Oh, and I need to finish my knitting project that is due Sunday afternoon.  Crap.

Happy Friday,

Wrap It Up #4

It's Saint Nicholas day for us.  We started the tradition back when my older three were just little.  St. Nick brings new pajamas for everyone and then something that requires sharing or time as a family, to help us remember what is truly important this time of year - and all year really.  Over the years St.Nick has brought a Little People Nativity (to save Momma's expensive one), sleds - though only two to be shared between three (at the time) kids, movies, games, popcorn makers (all agree so much better than micro), etc.  I'm happy to say his gifts seem to promote the togetherness they're intended to.  We've also gone from no school morning celebrations to, unfortunately, hurry-up celebrations before the start of school.  Which was today's version, but candy was munched, boots were dug through and wrapping paper was strewn all over.  Nothing says "get out of the house on time" like picking up wrapping paper bits and boxes.

Today, even Momma was visited by St. Nick.  Leaving the house this morning I found a package to "Momma Scholz and the rest of the Scholzes - St. N."  My daughter (who was shocked AND happy - a feat difficult to achieve with a teenager - with her Bruins pajamas) opened the bag on our way to school and inside is the cutest cookie jar!  It's a little Christmas mouse.  And I have no idea who left it - so thank you St. Nick, wherever you are.

It's been one of those weeks where little seems to be done, until last night that is.  Unfortunately, it took until 9:00 pm before I was able to start crossing things off my lists.  Among them was this - my 30 Days of Thankful album.  Filled.  Complete.  Done.  I took a cue from Lisa Dickinson on simply adhering ribbon to her chipboard covers.  And I actually love it.

It may be a few days past my November list of to-dos, but I've Wrapped Up this project and am still moving on.    Today's Wrap It Up inspiration/challenge comes from PageMaps (who provides Apron Strings with its exclusive sketches in each kit - and has for four years!  Thanks, Becky!)  A layout and a card sketch.

Do one, do both - either one will gain you entry into the drawing for the week.   Prize of the week?  A collection of My Mind's Eye Union Square line.

Happy Thursday,

Wrap It Up #3

Yesterday was . . . GUH . . .a day.  That's all I can say. It's all I want to say.  I did post yesterday's challenge today, so if you haven't seen it. . .do.

I want to catch up on my December Daily with Ali Edwards - and OH MY!, would you lookie who's there. ;D  As I think I mentioned, I am combining my December Daily with Journal Your Christmas with Shimelle (which I haven't yet jumped all over.)  Both projects are awesome ways of connecting to the season.  I love the prompts and photo suggestions provided by Shimelle, and the design and ideas from Ali.  This is my fourth or fifth year, so there's only so many photos I can take before they start to look pretty similar - but there's nothing wrong with that.  The journaling prompts not only have created some great stories (and pulled up some fond memories), but have made me look for different photos.  I'm excited to actually start. . .just need a day of either no kids. . .or just less crazy.

Today's Wrap It Up challenge/inspiration comes from Pinterest via Scrappin with DeeDee's blog; designer Jennifer Halleck had it pinned, and how cute?  How simple?  And who doesn't have buttons?  You may even have a miscellaneous stash of plain tags taking up space.  A little baker's twine adds color.  The sentiment is stamped, but you could totally write it yourself, run it through your printer or just leave it off and make a "To/From" tag.  Use rhinestones or pearls in place of the stamped snowflakes.  How cute would this embellishment be on your layout?

In whatever way you're inspired, be sure to link up your project by Sunday evening to be eligible for this week's giveaway - it's a My Mind's Eye kit, but the name escapes me at the moment.  Just play along, you won't be disappointed. :)

Happy Wednesday.

Wrap It Up #2

Today's Wrap it Up challenge/inspiration comes from Apron Strings Color Theory board on Pinterest.  I love these colors. . .they're sort of rustic, a little traditional and even a little vintage.  These colors can be found in last December's kits, the Echo Park and Authentique lines - and they may or may not be on sale (big time).

Let the colors inspire you today.  Or maybe it's the little red berries that inspire you to add pops of color, or small round embellishments.  Maybe the wooden bowl reminds you that you have some wooden embellishments to use, or maybe that you have some of those wood-looking papers that need using.  Maybe the quilt under the candle makes you want to dig into your scraps and piece together a border or background.

Whatever inspiration you find, apply it to your card or layout, then link it up to be eligible for this week's prize.

Happy Tuesday.

Masochistic Tendancies and Wrap It Up December

Because I'm an apparent masochist, I've decided to keep on rolling with challenges to keep you rolling, in this the chaotic season of giving.  We'll be "Wrapping Up" the year with completed layouts and cards!

30 Days of Thankful is closed - and I only need to print and write up the last week's worth and plop them in the album and then bring the album up to the family room.  Finished!!

Christmas cards remain tucked in the drawer still incomplete, as are the Take 12 layouts.  These two facts, however, have no bearing on the fact that I have decided to take part, once again, in not only December Daily, but Project Life in 2013.  This year, as last year, I am combining my December Daily with Journal Your Christmas.

I spent the weekend maneuvering around boxes of Christmas stuff which were layered on Fall stuff.  The clutter is making me nuts.  My next workshop for knitting a little snowman came just before I pulled out my hair on Sunday afternoon.

So that you don't get to that point, let's start Wrapping it Up with the first challenge.  I love this photo for several reasons:  1. the snow, 2. the Christmas decorations, 3. the snow, 4. it's taken in Petosky Michigan (been there, love it, would like to be there) and 5. the snow.  How will this inspire you today?  The red pops of the bows?  The black and white?  The snow - using flocked paper?  The Christmasy look?  The sprinkle of white glittery lights?

Upload your layout or card by Sunday evening to be eligible for this week's prize.  One item a week makes you eligible for the drawing - getting more complete just ups you chances.

I'm off to declutter and keep my hair!

Happy Monday,

Day #30 - 30 Days of Thankful

Day #30 - Today I am thankful for the chance to drive Jackson, and classmates, to the Argyle and watch him interact with the seniors there.
